Have you noticed that the little popups in the malls for tax related returns have suddenly reappeared?
As I walked past one today I noticed that the popup was manned by people who might have been qualified to be accountants but certainly didn’t look it.
as I thought about this I remembered that for many kiwis you don’t even need to do a tax return you just login to the IRD website and between your employer and the IRD the tax credit has already been calculated.
Is it possible then that these tax return pop ups are not really accountants or tax agents at all?
Are they a similar idea to the people who help you get on to google and facebook which are both free setups but because you didn’t know you paid for the pleasure?
